I want to share an incredible testimony with you all today. The Lord is good! If you’ve read my testimonies blog post, you might remember that I shared how He provided a house for my parents, and they moved to their new house in November 2024. Interestingly, during the same week that my parents settled into their new home with my sister, the Lord revealed a house for my husband and me to buy, conveniently located near our current home in a vibrant city in Italy. So, here is our new house testimony.
The house search
My husband and I have been on a quest for a new home here in Italy since 2022. Although our rental one-bedroom apartment was decent, featuring a small living area, bathroom, and kitchen, we had outgrown the space. The apartment building was over 40 years old, and the apartment itself was remodeled eight years ago. As time went on, various issues arose; the dishwasher malfunctioned, the electric stove was unreliable, and a leaky toilet handle made for constant mopping. We opted not to bother the elderly 87-year-old homeowner, who had recently experienced significant losses in his family, especially since we were hoping to move soon.
Despite the challenges, we clung to our hope in God, believing that He would send the right opportunity our way. Each summer, we promised ourselves that we would find a better place to live, but three years passed with little progress. The housing market was tough, with prices soaring and most options either too far away or outside our budget. Last summer (2024), I finally voiced my concerns to my husband about our living situation and realized we weren’t putting in enough effort to change things. We both preferred to stay close to the city, making it even harder to find a suitable rental within our means.
The house within budget
With steady conviction, my husband reassured me that we would have a house by the end of the year. Soon, it was November 2024, and still, no house was in sight. However, as the month ended and my parents settled into their new home, we stumbled upon an advertisement for a brand-new house under construction. We contacted the developers, fixed an appointment, and visited the property. It was perfect for us. And, it was located just 20 minutes from the city where we lived. It was the only house we had ever visited, and in ways only God could orchestrate, He helped us make the purchase.
From April 2024 till November 2024, I prayed every single day with my parents regarding their new house. God not only answered our prayers but also blessed me and my husband with a new house. The week after my parents settled in their new house, my husband and I went to see our new house that the Lord had prepared for us.
Now, from our new house, I reflect on the journey and the challenges we faced. We had to furnish the entire place, from the kitchen to the bedroom and bathroom, within three months because we informed our landlord that we would vacate the house by the end of April 2025, and our previous rented apartment came fully furnished. The remarkable part of this experience was the immense favor we received from various people and companies, which I attribute to the favor of God. We received huge discounts and incredible offers that felt almost unbelievable to those unfamiliar with God.
How God led us to buy the right kitchen
When we set out to buy a kitchen, we were surprised to find that prices in Italy usually start around 20,000 euros. However, we managed to purchase a kitchen originally priced at 25,000 euros for just 13,000 euros! Along with the kitchen, we received a peninsula, ample storage space, and essential appliances such as a fridge, dishwasher, oven, and microwave—valued significantly higher than our budget could accommodate.
I am sharing this experience to highlight God’s goodness and His influence in our lives and to encourage you in the Lord. What we experienced is truly remarkable, as such substantial discounts and bonuses from a reputable kitchen company are rare in Italy. And, I believe what God did for us, He will do for anyone who trusts Him.
Two awesome bonuses
Before we even began exploring kitchen options, my husband and I took a moment to pray, asking God to guide us to the right place. The Holy Spirit prompted us to go to a certain kitchen showroom on a specific day. During our visit to the store, the consultant informed us that a new subsidiary branch had recently opened in the street right behind the store. And, to celebrate the launch, they were offering a special promotion. Customers who made kitchen purchases that week would receive a complimentary washing machine and dryer. Had we arrived even a week earlier or later, we would have missed out on this incredible offer and ended up spending extra on the washing machine. All Glory be to God alone for orchestrating this.
Interestingly, we never initially considered buying a dryer, but it came as a bonus we never expected. It was particularly surprising to find such appliances in a kitchen showroom in Italy, where typically, they don’t sell laundry equipment in specialized kitchen settings.
How God led us to the right furniture showroom
In our journey to furnish our new home, we chose to rely on God’s guidance rather than our own desires or the expectations of others. Each one has a plan for you, you see. There are your own plans, then there are the plans that others have for your life, and then there is God’s plan for your life. And, we have to choose. We turned to God for guidance. He directed my husband and me to a furniture showroom to look for a bedroom. As soon as we entered the showroom, I noticed a consultant working on a laptop and the name on the laptop was my name, Yashi. I felt good about this, but I set my feelings aside and went bout looking at the furnitures in the store.
The showroom was modern and upscale, featuring an array of high-quality furniture – bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, sofas etc. We decided to first look at the bedroom options so we could customize it according to our space. My husband and I speculated that the items might be expensive due to the showroom’s upscale appearance and the quality of the furnishings.
The consultant approached us and asked if we had found anything we liked among the bedrooms and if we wanted to schedule a consultation. It was a Saturday, and typically, showrooms are packed on Saturdays, making it nearly impossible to have a consultation without an appointment. However, there was only one other customer besides us. I see God’s favour also here, and this is one of the most important parts of our house testimony. You’ll find out why as you keep reading.
The Biblical Connection
We happily agreed to let the consultant create a 3D design of a bedroom for us, and we were thrilled with the result. To our surprise, the price was within our budget. Later, we found out that the consultant was actually the owner’s son, and this furniture company was an Italian family business. An interesting point to note: In Italy, it can be challenging to find English names, but the consultant’s name was both English and biblical: Samuel.
And we subsequently furnished our bathroom and living room from the same company. When God directs you to some place, it will be right. He helped us meet the right person (Samuel) at the right place. We didn’t need to do much explaining regarding the bedroom or living room design. He just understood us. Praise the Lord!
Another interesting detail: the construction company that built the house directed us to go to a specific location for the tiles, and, to our surprise, the consultant assisting us in selecting the tiles was another person named Samuel. Interestingly, it was not the Italian version, Samuele, but Samuel, just like the prophet of God who anointed King David.
It is interesting how two individuals named Samuel assisted us in furnishing the house.
Levi
If you thought it ended there, hold on—I have something else to share. After we designed the bedroom, we, of course, needed a mattress to sleep on the bed. So, I prayed and asked God to lead us, and He guided us to a store where we could try out different mattresses. There were two that we particularly liked. Guess what their names were? Well, one was called Pascoli, which means “pastures,” and the other was Levi.
I found it fascinating how this connection emerged. Both names were those of poets from Italy, but their significance in the Bible was remarkable. Pastures refer to green pastures. The Lord makes you to lie down on green pastures (Psalm 23:2), whereas Levi is a tribe of Israel. Ultimately, we chose the mattress named Levi because it felt the most comfortable for us. The Lord reminded me that the tribe of Levi were priests unto God. As believers, we are also considered priests unto Him. I had goosebumps thinking about the connection and about God being involved in every detail. When you invite God into every situation, you will see His fingerprints everywhere in your life.
What else do I have to say? As we continue to fill our home with essentials, we have seen God’s hand at work continuing to guide us in remarkable ways. This is a testament to the goodness of God; those who seek the Lord will lack no good thing . When we commit our ways to the Lord and trust in Him, He will direct our paths, and that is exactly what He has done for us. I encourage you to commit your ways to the Lord.
Encouragement
I was that girl who watched YouTube videos of people sharing their house testimonies. Although I felt encouraged and happy for them, I wondered when it would be our turn. And, I prayed and waited for more than three years. Now, I am writing my own testimony to affirm God’s goodness and mercy.
Father God is indeed merciful, and He is a loving Father. I want to encourage you: if you need anything, whether it’s direction in life, a new home, or even something small, seek Him. And then wait for Him to move. Be patient and wait for His guidance. Avoid rushing or trying to handle things on your own if you don’t see Him move immediately. Wait for His timing, obey whatever He instructs you to do, and go wherever He leads you. By doing so, you will witness His guidance and experience His goodness in your life. Let go of your will and choose His will because He knows what is best for you.
Conclusion
I hope this house testimony has encouraged you. It certainly inspired me to reflect on everything that has transpired over the past few months. Completing everything (documentation, emptying the rented house, decluttering, ordering furnishings for the new house, and moving things) within a three-month period was intense.
